About Us

Donna Bailey known by friends and in the community as “Sister Donna” is a local Loudoun County Virginia sweetheart that makes the BEST homemade jams and jelly!

Originally from Montclair, New Jersey she is one of nine children.  Their home was on 2 acres of land and as it turned out used to be a nursery that included apple trees, a huge cherry tree, grape vines, a pear tree, along with a very popular and sweet mulberry tree.

Her twin sister, Dianna took great delight in planting and harvesting a garden full of all types of vegetables like corn, collard greens, green beans, peas, and carrots.

During the coldest part of the winter and the holidays, she has fond memories of her mother making the best yeast rolls, cornbread, and biscuits.  Topped with homemade grape jam made earlier in the year made quite an impression on her.  Right up until today, she marvels at the taste that is captured in a jar of fresh jams and how it seemed to bring the joy of the summer back on those long, cold winter days.

As time moves on and the previous generation expires, unfortunately, so does the skill set if not taught.  Sister Donna has incorporated teaching the skill into her ministry work.

Sister Donna is very active in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) community and when asked how her business got started, with a gracious smile she shares of how she had been praying to God for clarity on her purpose.  She believes canning is one of the valuable tools that can be used to achieve that larger purpose.

She has always volunteered in support of multiple nonprofits, schools, and community groups and would bring her jams to share or to provide as a thank you gift.  People were extremely delighted and actually put her in business by regularly purchasing jams.

Her training classes are high energy, lots of fun, and very informative.

Welcome to Sweet Jesus Jams and Jellies!
